Mindfulness and Chi Kung practice in daily life

Mindfulness and Chi Kung share in common the cultivation of clear, present awareness.

Both avenues of practice encourage qualities of calm and insight, loving-kindness and joy - through meditation in both stillness and movement.

Thus meditation in movement and sitting meditation complement one another. Through grounding and centering, gradual alignment softens us, flowering in spontaneous openness. Our trust takes root in a spacious flow of balance and harmony. Regular practice leads to a deepening union within the wider ‘Eco-body’ - a living taste of the vast sacred dance.

Great joy can arise - bliss indeed - as original Chi sparkles, and natural healing presence awakens in the practitioner, bringing quiet confidence and resilience. Through peaceful embodiment, group practice can become an evolving mandala, which helps nourish compassionate, equanimous community.

Aluna Movement was the holding theme and working title for Sophie’s Chi Kung and Mindfulness website ( now no longer … )

‘Aluna is startlingly similar, for example, to the Buddhist concept of Tao, the changeless reality which sustains heaven and earth.’
